The dining room visually expresses my client's inner vision to have an elegant yet inviting area for dining. Originally my clients were afraid of color. To me, color is pure pleasure and this room needed a bold, sophisticated palette to give it life. Through conversation, I discovered that green was an acceptable color, especially emerald (her birthstone). This inspiration led to the deep green over metallic gold faux-finished wall, the malachite silk draperies edged in a shimmery fringe, and the luxurious gold and tourmaline brocaded silk on the Regency-styled chairs. To eclectisize the room, we used an oversized glass table top, supported by acrylic bases designed with bevels that act like giant prisms. Completing the space is a dramatic painting of casa blanca lilies by local artist Richard Laney.
